Submission Guidelines

Please review the submission guidelines listed below before uploading your manuscript. Following these guidelines ensures a smooth and efficient review process.

EKI Publishing

Thank you for your interest in partnering with EKI Publishing. We welcome authors who share our commitment to producing clean, family-friendly, uplifting, and purpose-driven books across fiction, non-fiction, and children’s literature.
Please review the guidelines below before submitting your manuscript for consideration.

1. What We Accept

EKI Publishing considers submissions in the following categories:

Fiction

  • Clean, family-friendly stories
  • Inspirational or values-driven themes
  • Fantasy, historical, contemporary, suspense, and more
  • No explicit content, graphic violence, or profanity

Non-Fiction

  • Christian living and faith-inspired works
  • Personal development and transformational writing
  • Leadership, family, education, and practical guides
  • Clean memoirs and personal testimony
  • Theology and bible-based teaching (sound, responsible, non-sensational)

Children’s Books

  • Picture books
  • Illustrated stories
  • Early readers
  • Faith-friendly or values-based content

Important: We do not publish erotica, explicit romance, occult-centered works, hate-based content, or any material that conflicts with EKI’s family-friendly publishing standards.

2. Manuscript Requirements

Before submitting, please ensure your manuscript meets the following standards:

Format

  • Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) preferred
  • Standard 12-point font (Times New Roman or similar)
  • Double-spaced
  • Page numbers included
  • Clear chapter breaks

Length

  • Fiction: 40,000–120,000 words
  • Non-fiction: 25,000–100,000 words
  • Children’s books: Variable depending on age category

Shorter works may still be considered for special formats.

File Naming

Use the following format:
LastName_Title_Genre.docx

3. What to Include With Your Submission

Along with the manuscript (or sample chapters), please include:

A. Book Synopsis

A one-page summary describing the core message or storyline.

B. Author Bio

3–6 sentences about your background, experience, and writing purpose.

C. Target Audience

Who will this book help, inspire, or entertain?

D. Optional: Book Proposal (Recommended for Non-Fiction)

  • Overview
  • Chapter summaries
  • Author platform
  • Comparable titles

E. If Submitting a Children’s Book

Include illustrations only if you own the rights or hired the illustrator.

4. How to Submit

You may submit your manuscript digitally through our secure Submission Portal:

Upload the required files and complete the brief questionnaire. This helps our editorial team understand your book and determine the best pathway—publishing, development, or services.

5. What Happens Next

Once submitted:

1. Confirmation

You will receive an email confirming that we have received your materials.

2. Initial Review

Our editorial team will evaluate your submission to determine:

  • Fit with EKI’s values and standards
  • Market potential
  • Editing and development needs

3. Response Time

Please allow 2–6 weeks for a response.
Some submissions may require a longer review depending on season and workload.

4. Next Steps

You may receive one of the following decisions:

  • Accepted for Publishing: You will receive an invitation to join the EKI Author Portal as a Contracted Author.
  • Recommended for Paid Services: If your work requires development, editing, or design before being considered for publication, you may be invited to work with us through EKI Paid Services.
  • Not a Fit: A respectful decline with optional feedback (based on staffing and availability).

6. EKI Content Standards

We uphold strong quality and family-friendly standards. Submissions must not include:

  • Sexual content or explicit romance
  • Graphic violence or gore
  • Profanity
  • Occult, witchcraft, or demonic glorification
  • Hate-based, racist, or divisive material
  • Content promoting illegal or harmful behavior

This ensures that our catalog remains safe, uplifting, and trustworthy for families and communities.

7. Rights & Copyright

Submitting a manuscript does not transfer ownership. You retain full copyright until and unless a publishing agreement is signed.
